Budapest has a temperate continental climate. The seasons are usually well defined, with July and August the hottest months (28-30° C, 82-86° F) and December and January the coldest, when temperatures may fall to -15°C or 5°F. Weather forecasts for your stay can be found on the hotel\'s website.

Budapest is in the Central European Time zone. In the winter months this means clocks are set at GMT+1 hour, and in the summer (March to the end of October) GMT+2 hours.

Voltage in Hungary is 220 volts, and plugs are of the two-pin continental type. The hotel has an ample stock of adaptors and converters for guest use.

The currency in Hungary is the Hungarian Forint (HUF). Major credit cards are generally accepted in shops and restaurants; however it is handy to have ample change in cash with you. Euros and US dollars are widely accepted as payment but most shops charge an exchange commission and change is given only in local currency.

Citizens of the EU are permitted to stay in Hungary for an unlimited period. US and Canadian citizens can stay visa-free for up to 90 days. Citizens of most other countries require a visa to enter Hungary. Current requirements can be obtained from your nearest Hungarian Embassy or Consulate.
